Fraud Investigator (Consulate General of The United States of America Ho Chi Minh City)

📌JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The U.S. Mission in Vietnam – U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Fraud Investigator in its Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU). Duties: The Fraud Investigator is a full-time investigator of visa and passport fraud. The position's primary responsibilities include performing all tasks relating to the investigation, analysis, and tracking of fraud prevention casework in support of consular Nonimmigrant Visas (NIV), Immigrant Visas (IV), and American Citizen Services (ACS) operations. Supports other consular section units as required.

📌JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

🔻EDUCATION:
  • Completion of two years of college or university studies is required

🔻EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of three years of work experience with any or all of the following: administration, management, law, police investigations, claim investigations, fraud detection, visa or passport production.
🔻LANGUAGE: This may be tested.
  • Fluency Level Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
  • Fluency Level Speaking/Reading/Writing in Vietnamese is required.

🔻SKILL AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with a team of investigators and other consular staff is required. Must have interviewing skills that engender trust and the ability to extract information from different sources. Must have strong quantitative skills and expertise with Microsoft Office products. Must have strong communication skills. Must have the ability to extensively use the internet as a research tool. Must be able to analyze evidence and individual circumstances to present facts and findings. Must exhibit professional integrity in protecting records and sensitive information.
🔻KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of local governmental organizations, immigration law and practices, and cultural and social practices.
  • Knowledge of host country laws and authorities on migratory trends, demographics, and border controls.
