Online Safety Specialist


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the Online Safety Specialist you are responsible for all the technical aspects, capacity building and overall quality management of all online safety projects and support in Vietnam, including project management role for the national level activities.

KEY DUTIES

  • Lead strategic direction, research and coordination for the development and growth of the project portfolio related to online safety and or where online safety is included;
  • In close working with field staff, ensure technical quality of all elements of project design, implementation and monitoring, including relevant communications and advocacy activities, support to key stakeholders and partners of all levels to coordinate project planning, implementation, and monitoring according to the project agreement and proposal. Apply program “minimum standards” for quality, policies, budget and donor’s requirements;
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality curriculums and capacity building resources to be applied to specific online safety projects or where online safety is included, and support implementation where needed;
  • Deliver training, Training of Trainer (TOT) and build capacity of ChildFund Vietnam staff, and partners in online safety, provide support with trouble-shooting ICT elements of project;
  • Provide necessary technical inputs and support to other ChildFund’s projects when there are online safety or technology for development needs;
  • Promote gender and disability inclusions across assigned projects and where applicable;
  • Represent ChildFund Vietnam at relevant workshops, establishing appropriate information-sharing and learning networking in Vietnam and support collaborative initiatives across country and regional offices as directed.
  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University qualification in relevant field related to the technical area;
  • At least 5-year experience participating in relevant positions;
  • Experience with donor-funded projects and managing development projects, programs in remote or rural areas;
  • Experience developing curriculum for adults and children, providing training on internet usage;
  • Experiences in working and mobilizing youth participation, youth leadership and partnership development;
  • Experience in delivering projects on time and on budget.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent;
  • Knowledge and experience in technology for development (e.g. technology for education, health, social emotional learning…);
  • Knowledge of overall context of development activities in Vietnam as well as the latest stipulations and laws specifically related to internet and communications.

SKILLS

  • Outstanding knowledge of ICT
  • Excellent literacy in using digital equipment (smart phones, tablets, etc)
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution & negotiation skill
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to engage with partners in both public and private sector
  • Ability and skills in organising and providing trainings;
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • English proficiency
