The Goethe Institute is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany that operates worldwide. We promote international cultural cooperation and convey a comprehensive picture of Germany through information about cultural, social and political life.
As of June 1, 2022, the Goethe Institute in Ho Chi Minh City is looking for a motivated colleague to support the cultural programs. The full time position (40 working hours per week) is limited to one year with possibility to renew for another two years.
Your responsibility:
- Support the planning, preparation and implementation of national and regional cultural projects in all areas including art, theatre, dance, literature, music and all formats including seminars, panel discussions and symposia
- Fostering and maintaining respective networks, contacts and target groups including partners of the civil society, liaising with artists and speakers; negotiation with partners, venues, suppliers
- Preparation of innovative cultural formats for a new space of the Goethe-Institut in HCMC
- Press and public relations including social media
- Communications with relevant authorities
- Financial accounting for events and budget monitoring
- Event reporting
Your profile:
- Completed university studies or equivalent vocational training in the arts and professional experience in social, cultural or media fields
- Spoken and written Vietnamese at native level, very good command of English and / or German
- Strong knowledge and connections to the cultural scene in Vietnam
- Strong interest and knowledge of Germany’s cultural landscape
- Marketing experience and proficiency in design software (e.g. adobe photoshop, canva, video cut) are a plus
- Team orientation, social and intercultural competence
- Self-assured and friendly manner
