📌 DUTIES  Incumbent of this position will ensure that U.S. Government (USG) travel regulations are followed while overseeing all travel arrangements for Embassy personnel and visitors, including the arrangement of air tickets, hotels, and other travel related needs. The incumbent will monitor and supervise 1) the on-site travel contractor to ensure compliance with USG travel rules, regulations, and entitlements, and 2) the Visits Office Assistant Locally Employed Staff to coordinate the support of Hanoi’s many high-level visitors. S/he will receive and respond to requests for services by phone, email, or in person. S/he will report directly to the General Services Officer responsible for travel.  This is a customer service position; the incumbent will be expected to provide expedient, friendly, and professional service to Embassy Hanoi clients.  📌 QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATIONS   👉 Requirements:
  • EXPERIENCE: At least four years of progressively complex work experience in the travel field is required.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have an excellent understanding of local travel market, including airlines, hotels, and local tour companies.
👉 Education Requirements: Completion of a university degree in hospitality, tourism, or administration is required. 👉 Evaluations: LANGUAGE:
  • Fluent in Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This will be tested.)
  • Fluent in Speaking/Reading/Writing Vietnamese is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be customer-service oriented and be able to deal tactfully and effectively with a variety of local and overseas vendors and U.S. citizen clients.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Must have basic MS Office skills and intermediate Internet searching capabilities.
