JOB TITLE: Associate Program Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam
- Contract Type: Local, Full Time (100% FTE)
- Duration: One year (with possibility of extension based on performance and funds availability)
BACKGROUND:
Friends for International Tuberculosis Relief (FIT) is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care service delivery, technical assistance, advocacy and research.
In collaboration with the National TB Control Program (NTP) and other partners, we are implementing innovative TB projects across 18 provinces of Viet Nam. Our work aims to 1) increase TB detection and treatment in key populations; 2) provide social support and adherence monitoring to improve TB treatment outcomes; and 3) scale up preventive TB treatments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the following activities:
- Support the development of project SOPs
- Train field staff and Project Officers on project SOPs and data systems
- Directly supervise field staff and Project Officers (as line manager)
- Coordinate and troubleshoot field activities
- Engage with local stakeholders, primarily government health staff at District TB Units and Provincial Lung Hospitals
- Ensure high SOP adherence for project activities
- Promote data driven implementation in weekly project meetings and during site visits
- Troubleshoot implementation issues and devise solution
- Review and verify performance-based incentives for field staff
- Coordinate data collection and digitization by reporting deadlines
- Review and approve project data reports
- Write monthly implementation briefs to capture the implementation context
- Review and contribute to quarterly (and annual) donor report narratives
- Support ad hoc requests for data and narrative reporting from staff at FIT, government stakeholders, donors and other partners
- Other activities requested by FIT management
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Detail oriented
- Strong communications skills
Academic credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to health, epidemiology, development, or management is required
- Master’s degree preferred
Work history
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Health-related work experience is strongly preferred
LANGUAGES REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English (both written and verbal) is required
