Ag Tech Consultants – Hanoi, Vietnam

Tetra Tech International Development Services (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for potential Ag Tech Consultant positions on an anticipated donor-funded program in Vietnam.

Position Description/Summary:

The Ag Tech Consultants will provide technical advice and expertise to support the development and testing of digital (mobile and web-based) solutions for smallholder farmers and agribusinesses in Vietnam. Solutions may include applications that provide agronomic advice. Consultants will leverage knowledge in mobile and web-based application development, agricultural technology, agribusiness, and/or digital training and capacity building to promote effective product testing, collection of user feedback, and/or digital product development. Consulting assignments will have an expected duration of between three (3) days and one (1) month, depending on the negotiated scope of work. Applications will be considered for assignments throughout 2020, with start dates as early as February 2020. Work may take place in Hanoi or may require travel to agricultural sites in other regions of Vietnam.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, business management, communications, computer science, economic development, or related field. Advanced degree preferred;
At least five (5) years of experience developing and testing digital solutions for agriculture, especially for agribusinesses and smallholder farmers. Experience with mobile or web-based solutions that disseminate agronomic advice plus;
At least two (2) years of experience working with agricultural development or agricultural technology in Vietnam, and strong knowledge of the relevant business and policy environment;
Proficient English required; fluent Vietnamese a plus;
Ability to travel within Vietnam for up to several days with short notice required.
