- KnowledgeABLE: Enhancing understanding on the importance of girls’ education by allowing the youth, especially young women, to demonstrate how education can positively influence their lives and the lives of their families, friends and communities
- EmployABLE: Improving employment opportunities for ethnic minority women through targeted career orientation programmes, training on income generation and facilitating access to job opportunities
- ProtectABLE: Fostering a safe and healthy educational environment by enhancing knowledge of gender-based violence in schools and strengthening teachers’ capacities on gender-responsive school counseling
- EnABLE: Empowering ethnic minority youth to overcome stereotypes and enhance solidarity with their peers – other Vietnamese youth- across the country
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the project, in close coordination with the Project Officer of the “We are ABLE” project, ensuring the achievement of the project objectives, implementation of the proposed activities and production of deliverables as per the approved project document;
- Organize consultations with school managers, teachers and students on access to lighting and electricity in selected communities in three provinces of Ha Giang, Soc Trang and Ninh Thuan;
- Support the selected lower secondary schools (16 schools) in the three provinces in creating solar lighting libraries;
- Assist Signify Viet Nam in preparing and conducting trainings for school focal points in charge of solar lighting system;
- Develop guideline(s) for awareness raising on the sustainable and green living practices including the usage of energy and renewable energy;
- Disseminate guidelines to the selected lower secondary schools and support students to organize awareness raising activities;
- Monitor activities at the selected lower secondary schools and prepare brief assessments after the implementation of activities;
- Prepare a final report.
- Support the development of a training guideline, including the content description of each capacity building training in Ha Giang, Soc Trang and Ninh Thuan for Student Core Groups in 12 selected We are ABLE schools;
- Support the consultant in the preparation of training materials and deliver capacity building trainings for Student Core Groups in Ha Giang, Soc Trang and Ninh Thuan, with adaption to local context;
- Monitor and provide guidance for We are ABLE students to implement awareness raising activities in schools and develop communication outputs to be shared with parents, family members and the schools;
- Ensure all key stakeholders are informed on a regular basis on progress of the activities;
- Prepare an activity report.
- Coordinate with the Project Officer of the “We are ABLE” project to develop and implement communication activities for the promotion of two projects, i.e. the “We are ABLE” project and the project on lighting up the future of ethnic minority communities in Viet Nam.
- Bachelor degree in Natural Sciences (focus on environmental protection or climate change), Social and Human Sciences, Gender Studies, Education or any related fields
- At least 5 years of working experiences in the relevant fields, such as environmental protection, climate change, gender equality and education
- Working experience in youth engagement, preferably with knowledge of UNESCO youth engagement approaches;
- Working experience in designing and facilitating capacity-building workshops for adolescents and youth, with participatory and adolescent/youth-friendly learning methods and content development;
- Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Knowledge on gender mainstreaming and youth mainstreaming
- Knowledge on sustainable and green living practices, including the use of (renewable) energy, is an asset
- Commitment to team work
- Capacity to coach and mentor others
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills;
- Highly organized and self-motivated;
- Capacity to collaborate and positively engage with a range of partners and beneficiaries, including national/local authorities as well as key stakeholders in schools and communities;
- Demonstrated personal sensitivity and commitment to the values and principles of equity, gender equality, cultural diversity, and children and youth protection;
- Excellent computing skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and related programmes; and
- Prior UN experience is an asset.
