Accountant (VietED Center)


Introduction

Viet Rural Enterprise Development Center (abbreviated as VietED Center) is an organization working in scientific technology and community development, founded on 09 August 2010 under Decision No. 364 by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) VietED Center is one of the leading organizations in the field of consulting and providing advisory services in the fields of finance, agriculture value chain development, market-linkage, community development, business skills development, brand development and capacity development training to help mitigate poverty, especially in the areas affected by climate change. Our consultants have the experience of working all-across the developing nations in Asia and Africa.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial / donor reports, financial statements, cashflow projection and key financial indicators with proper analysis and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial report to BODs, procurement transactions and payments, ensuring that all supporting documentation and approvals are accurate and in line with the low, organizations and donor’s policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Oversee monthly financial report between accounting systems and bank statements; reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, and petty cash.
  • Ensures the maintenance of proper accounting documentation and facilitate provision of information and documentation during audits.
  • Liaise with Vietnamese tax authority / social insurance authority and remit employee withholdings on a monthly basis as required.
  • Provide instructions about accounting and finance management to project partners and field office.
  • Monitor the advance to project partners for implementing project’s activities.
  • Check and verify all accounting documents of project partners related to the expenditure
  • of project’s activities in accordance with the approved budget.
  • Supports the Supervisors against project financial budgeting and expenditures.
  • Prepare the periodic financial report as required by the donors.
  • Update new regulations and low by Vietnam government to apply it appropriately.
  • Prepare the necessary reports relating to the funding and finance as required by
  • government authorities (Department of Finance, VUSTA and Project partners, etc.)

Qualifications

Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or relevant field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as an accountant for foreign-funded projects required with excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively within a team.
  • Possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Office applications;
  • Good command of English is an asset.
