- Supporting the lead veterinarian with all duties relating to the daily veterinary work and health management of rescued bile bears and other species on occasion.
- Assisting with bear health checks, procedure preparation, monitoring anaesthesia, venepuncture, venous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, dentistry etc.
- Assisting with the organization and execution of bear rescues and travelling with the transport team, alongside the lead veterinarian, on bear transfers.
- Laboratory work such as, coroscopy, cytology and blood work.
- Veterinary-related administrative duties such as animal record keeping, pharmacy and equipment inventory, maintenance of the clinic pharmacy, purchasing of veterinary drugs and other materials and equipment, etc.
- Animal husbandry when required, daily care of the bears including cleaning, food distribution whilst adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Supervision of the bear team in the absence of other bear team managers.
- Translation of documents between English and Vietnamese.
- Vietnamese national holding a minimum 4-year veterinary degree.
- At least one-year practical veterinary experience would be an advantage, however a strong attitude and aptitude for learning is of most importance.
- Experience in animal care and husbandry is desirable.
- Highly motivated, diligent and with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven interest in wildlife and wildlife medicine
- Excellent written and spoken English and Vietnamese
- Computer literacy (MS Office requested)
- High level of responsibility and personal drive. Motivation for self-study and continuing professional development.
- Willingness to relocate to Ninh Binh province
- Flexibility to travel and work on weekends and public holidays on occasion and at short notice.

- Extensive training provided in many aspects of veterinary medicine by experienced veterinarians, international specialists and leaders in their fields. For a wide range of species, not only bears, in the fields of internal medicine including, but not limited to, clinical pathology, diagnostic imaging, pathology, soft tissue surgery anaesthesia and dentistry.
- Training in various drug delivery methods.
- The possibility to attend training courses and conferences
- Training in animal husbandry, animal behaviour, safety standards and emergency procedures.
