Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) is looking for a Vietnamese candidate to fill the position of Bear Program Officer, which will be based in Hanoi but may require intermittent travel across Vietnam.
In short, the Bear Program Officer’s main responsibility is carrying out activities related to helping end bear bile farming in Vietnam for good.
What will an ENV Bear Program Officer do?
- Work on and develop existing bear-related campaigns, as well as develop and manage new and innovative campaigns, activities, and programs aimed at ending bear bile farming in Vietnam.
- Organize and conduct public awareness events, including public exhibits in public locations as well as other public outreach campaigns. Events are mainly in Hanoi and occasionally other locations.
- Work in close partnership with ENV’s communications team providing input on communications outputs such as Public Service Announcement films, radio shows, and viral campaigns, as well as assisting with events and other activities relevant to bears.
- Develop new educational resources for awareness activities and ENV publications.
- Assist in the writing of quality English-language monthly, annual, and donor reports for the program and initiatives as required.
- Additional duties will include assisting the Volunteer Network (Outpost) Coordinator with volunteer recruitment, training, and events.
What does our ideal Bear Program Officer have to offer?
- A university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Foreign Language, or other relevant fields)
- Good coordination and organization skills
- Excellent communications skills, both in English and Vietnamese (written and spoken)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Quality professional Vietnamese writing skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to details
- A hardworking spirit and a desire to make a difference
