The Library Project donates libraries to underfinanced schools and orphanages in Asia. We believe education is the key motivator to breaking the cycle of poverty that exists in the developing world. As we see it, education is change!

The Library Project launched operations in Vietnam in 2012 and are looking to put together an incredible group of motivated individuals that are dedicated to getting more books in the hands of eager young readers.

To date, The Library Project has established 100 in Vietnam (we are slowly growing) and 2,000 libraries in China. Some of our libraries are small and others are large, but all of our libraries help to improve the education of each and every child that touches their many colourful local language books.

1, JOB DESCRIPTION

The Library Project is an international non-profit that donates local language children’s libraries to underfunded, rural schools. We also conduct Literacy Programs and Teacher Trainings. We are now looking to fill our new position of a Bookkeeping & Accounting Consultant.

Bookkeeping & Accounting Manager is a part-time position. We have between 50-100 receipts every month that will need to be entered into Xero (our online accounting system). We will also need regular Income Statements, Balance Statements and Cash Flow documents created for our team. Flexible working time and location is also available.

We are currently a small organization, so we’re looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, energetic and a self-starter. This is a great opportunity to use your skills to help improve education in Vietnam.

Main Responsibilities:

BOOKKEEPING & ACCOUNTING

  • input receipts into Xero.com
  • create Income (P&L), Balance and Cashflow Statements
  • work with our team on planning organization spending
  • support our team in the creation of budgets
  • support in the filing of taxes
  • support in HR related expenses with our HR agency

2. JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in related field
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English (native level Vietnamese fluency required)
  • Have experience using Xero.com
  • Can pass criminal background check
