www.library-project.org

The Library Project donates libraries to rural schools and orphanages in Asia. We believe education is the key motivator to breaking the cycle of poverty that exists in the developing world. As we see it, education is change!?

1. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Library Project is an international non-profit that donates local language children’s libraries to underfunded, rural schools. We also conduct Literacy Programs and Teacher Trainings. We are now looking to fill our new position of a Business Development Manager (BDM).

The BDM’s main responsibility will be to build new corporate partnerships both inside and outside of Vietnam. These partnerships will provide schools with high-quality children’s libraries and give companies a meaningful way to give back to the community. The BDM will be responsible for negotiating terms and creating proposals. The BDM will need to have a “big picture” mindset in order to create partnerships that are financially necessary for the organization and equally beneficial for our partner companies and beneficiary schools. The BDM will draft donor reporting and occasionally help with external communication via blogs and social media. This position is very externally facing and will often act as the face of the organization in Vietnam.

We are currently a small organization, so we’re looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, energetic and a self-starter. This is a great opportunity to use your strong communication and networking skills to help improve education in Vietnam.

Main Responsibilities:

– Corporate Partnership Development
– Develop relationships with corporations domestically in Vietnam and abroad
– Build potential client list with corporations
– Write and negotiate corporate proposals for sponsorship
– Develop relationships with individuals outside of the country for individual giving
– Maintain good relations with all donors
– Corporate donor reporting

Communications
– All communication will be done in Vietnamese and English languages
– Increase awareness of the organization via online communication (email, social media, website)
– Write press releases and post to website
– Develop seasonal giving strategies

2. JOB REQUIREMENTS

– University degree
– Fluent in Vietnamese and English (native level Vietnamese fluency required)
– Can pass criminal background check

Desirable
– Experience building corporate partnerships in Vietnam
– Experience building personal and company networks
– Strong communication skills
– Excellent public speaking skills

Other
– Positive attitude
– Self-starter mindset
– Ambitious
– Persistent
– Enjoys meeting and talking to new people
– Excited about improving education in Vietnam

Other Information
This is a full time, salaried position. General working hours are M-F daytime, however for this position there may be occasional evening and/or weekend work due to networking or fundraising events. This position will occasionally join our donation trips throughout the Mekong Delta region.
