The Communications Analyst (CA) is responsible to design and manage all aspects of internal and external communications for the GCF project and the EU project. The CA will contribute to the development of high-quality knowledge and learning content including data visualizations, success stories, case studies and other reporting that informs learning activities and adaptative management decisions. The CA will support the promotion of project activities through key communication channels and will engage critical partners and communities through strategic outreach and innovative communication practices. The CA will also support the effective media and communications products, outreach and advocacy activities to support the development and implementation of the UNDP Viet Nam’s Climate Change and Environment sub-programme, contribute to the priority UNDP policy agenda/knowledge products. The CA is under direct supervision of Programme Officers of the GCF project and EU project and is under overall guidance of the Assistant Resident Representative (ARR)/ Head of the Climate Change and Environment Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Communications Analyst has two functions:

• Develop and execute effective communications/advocacy activities for the upcoming GCF2 project and the EU project Integrated sustainable landscape management through deforestation-free jurisdiction project in Lam Dong and Dak Nong, Vietnam and publicize the projects have received funding from the GCF and the EU; including technical communication support towards development of projects’ thematic IEC materials.
• Contribute to effective communications and advocacy for key UNDP policy advice and knowledge products related to climate change, natural resources and environment; and Enhancement of outreach on social media platforms

Required Skills and Experience

• Master’s degree in media, journalism, communications, social science, climate change, environment or related fields.
• At least three (3) years of progressively relevant professional experience in communications and media in connection with development issues, at the national or international level;
• Familiarity with technical subjects of climate change, forestry, agriculture and environment or related topics;
• Proficient in using new technologies and web-based platforms;
• Proven networking skills and ability to interact with senior officials, senior management;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Graphic design capabilities are a strong asset;
• Good knowledge of gender equality and civil society participation are advantageous; and
• Familiarity with UNDP and UN system is an asset;
• Excellent knowledge of web and graphic design software and applications;
• Excellent knowledge of social media tools and applications with a special focus on community building;
• Full fluency in English and Vietnamese
