Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within 90 days of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end. Supervisory Position: No Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No Travel Required: 25% or less May have in country travel over the weekends.  Alternate as duty driver meaning a rotating shift and must be prepared for changes in routine at a moment’s notice.  May work long hours of overtime during visits. Duties Incumbents of these positions will operate all types of vehicles to include, but not limited to sedan and van to transport passengers, supplies and equipment for all agency customers at U.S. Embassy Hanoi.  The incumbents will operate these vehicles at any given time during the duty hours and perform other related duties as directed.  He/she will report to the Motor Pool supervisors. Qualifications and Evaluations Requirements: EXPERIENCE:  At least three years of experience as a driver is required. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have:
  • Be able to operate all types of passenger vehicles and trucks and perform operator’s level preventive maintenance checks on the assigned vehicle.
  • Be knowledgeable about the city of Hanoi and its neighboring provinces, Vietnam traffic laws, city traffic patterns, streets, locations of major buildings and government offices.
Education Requirements: Completion of secondary school (grade 12) is required. Evaluations: LANGUAGE:  Level 2 (limited knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This will be tested.) Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Vietnamese is required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must have Vietnamese driver’s license valid for both passenger vehicles and trucks (Vietnamese category D driver's license or higher).
