Green Innovation and Development Centre (GreenID) is a Vietnamese non-profit organization (NPO) recognized by Decision 840/QD-LHH dated 27th December 2011.
GreenID works to promote sustainable development in Vietnam and the larger Mekong region and is now on its way to become a leading and credible civil society actor promoting sustainable energy sector development. GreenID recognizes that to promote sustainability it must address constraints related to governance, organisational structures and social and technology integration. GreenID has project-specific experience coupled with cutting edge global knowledge and theory to help integrate sustainable solutions into policy and local communities.
Focusing on unlocking clean energy potential in Vietnam, GreenID has introduced some initiatives about renewable energy both domestic and international to apply in Vietnam. We have looked at both centralized and decentralized solutions and promote the appropriate solutions to national context. GreenID is implementing clean energy solutions that take advantage of available local energy resources to replace harmful energy resources such as coal and oil. In the context of Vietnam's increasing import of fossil fuel for future power generation, green solutions not only reduce health impacts, but also reduce dependence on imported energy and even create opportunities for employment and a new growth model for the Vietnamese economy.
Purpose of the position: The Communication Officer is more focus on the tasks related to the social media & mass media engagement. The role is responsible for planning/implementing COM plan/campaign which ensure our core target through the effective use of social media and mass media channels.
Main responsibilities for social media:
- Oversee the development and delivery of the social media plan for program communication;
- Implement communications strategies & work-plans, campaigns, events and other initiatives follow the work assignment;
- Manage all social media channels (Facebook, YouTube, Websites...); and develop a sound relationship with bloggers, KOLs, and audiences.
- Update all relevant program/project’s events, activities on social media with input from program;
- Promote communications materials through appropriate social channels;
- Maintain documentation, photographic and video libraries on social channels;
- Design/develop high-quality communication materials (brochures, fact sheets, etc.) to distribute to public audiences;
- Ensure that all communications and marketing material has a high visual and influential impact aligns with brand standards;
- Monitor and control the social media Ad spending on monthly basic to ensure the appropriate spending rate.
Main responsibilities for mass media:
- Oversee the development and delivery of the mass media engagement plan for program;
- Produce and distribute all communication materials (e.g. media releases, media alerts,policy brief, research findings...);
- Liaise with media outlets or other external stakeholders to increase informationaccessibility to target audiences, and maximize media coverage;
- Coordinate and implement media activities (media fieldtrip, cafe talk with media, arrange and the follow-up interview...);
- Develop sound relationship with journalist through regularly contact, send information for international and national media;
- Maintain records of media coverage, daily media monitoring;
- Manage and update regularly media contact database;
Risk and Finance & admine management:
- Deploy approved statements during crisis management;
- Cooperate with Program Manager to mobilize different sources for program implementation; - Preparation of communications budgets;
- Ensure program document filed folowing of GreenID filling guideline.
Others:
- Act as GreenID’s representative at meetings and workshops as required;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Write communication reports as regulated by GreenID in English.
Quality requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations Business administration, social work.
- At least one years of experience in communications, marketing work.
- Critical thinking and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively
- Familiarity using social media content management and publishing platforms are desirable.
- Familiarity using design software: Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator is desirable.
- Technical knowledge in website development and WordPress is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed written and oral communications skills in Vietnamese. - Good English skill
- Strong interested in clean energy development & environment protection
- Good capability in team work
- Work effectively with other teams of a high degree of cultural and professional diversity.
