Communication & Social Media Specialist

We are seeking to hire a Communication & Social media Specialist for the Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition Social Enterprise (VIET) at the earliest possible starting date, to strengthen the positioning of the organization as a broadly recognized think-tank for know-how and dialogue platform on energy system transformation in Vietnam.

About the Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition

The Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition (VIET) is an independent think tank with the mission to accelerate the Energy Transition process in Vietnam towards a low carbon economy based on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. Our main objective is to deliver fact-based analysis on key drivers for the energy transition and provide a platform for discussions on technological, economic and policy aspects of the Vietnamese energy sector. We also focus on broader information and communication exchange towards the public and policy dialogues.

Job description: - You will be responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to build an audience and ensure customer engagement. The Specialist may also monitor site metrics, respond to reader comments, and oversee creative design. - As a Social Media Specialist at VIET, you’ll get to work with our research team to help develop brand awareness about our company through social media. More specifically, you’ll get to:

•  write long- and short-form social media messages that attract new users and engage current users
• use data to analyze what’s working, what’s not, and reinforce or refocus key messages accordingly
• wear many hats as you work with multiple teams to develop strategy, work with designers, write copy, manage social communities, and analyze data
• help convert our brand fans into loyal customers with engaging, responsive, responsible, surprising, and captivating social media interactions
• ensure accuracy and timeliness of information;
• smartly package content with images and related links.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Brand Management, Marketing or similar field with proven experience in Vietnam communication culture; - Excellent writing and editing skills; attention to detail, organized; Ability to multi-task and self-manage; - Experience in energy sector is preferred; - Experience with Judgment and knowledge of global sustainable development; - Perfect at English and Vietnamese; - Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WordPress, Photoshop, online and desktop productivity suites; - An inquisitive journalism spirit, unafraid to ask questions.

How to apply: The position is based in Hanoi. The term of the contract is 12 months full time after 01 month’s probation period, with a possible extension depending on results.
