Communication Specialist

GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Centre (GreenViet) is a local NGO based in Danang City, Vietnam. The mission of the organization is action to help communities understand, respect, and adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle by researching, conserving and disseminating the values of biodiversity. Since its establishment in 2012, GreenViet has worked with local communities, local authorities along Central and Central Highlands of Viet Nam to conduct conservation projects. Together with community engagement, GreenViet has achieved some remarkable results such as saving habitat of the Red-shanked douc langur (Pygathrix nemaeus) in Son Tra, Da Nang from development activities through education and awareness raising program to raise voice and participation of local people in policy advocacy activities. GreenViet is also working with Fauna and Flora International organization to conserve the GDL conservation program in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province. GreenViet is seeking for a dedicated communication specialist to take care of communication activities that contribute to raise awareness and participation of local communities in conservation in Central and Central Highlands. Scope of Work The proposed activity will seek an experienced communications specialist to organize and support publicity, advocacy, knowledge-sharing and promotional opportunities in support of GreenViets biodiversity conservation activities and to contribute to the management of media relations, newsletter, social media channels and website content. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Vice Director, the Communications specialist is responsible for the following tasks:

Content creation – writing press releases, blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for website, social media channels to donors, stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries; creating flyers, short videos, photos, infographics,
Social media marketing – creating, managing and growing the organization’s presence through Facebook and other strategically relevant online properties
Public relations – managing enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations and building relationships with journalists creating, executing and measuring media campaigns
Communications strategy – responsible for creating and implementing strategic communications plan and campaigns to more effectively reach out to the regional and national audience
Analytics – Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Events and event planning – organizing different types of events to help grow the reach of GreenViet and community meetups, such as press briefings, round tables discussions; exhibitions, press tours

Requirements/Qualifications

Bachelor/Master degree in PR, marketing, business, or related field
Experience required in managing communications, public relations or marketing for NGOs or businesses launching community initiatives of minimum 3 years
Experience in video production and photography is desirable
Strong interpersonal and networking skills
Excellent communication skills both oral and written in Vietnamese and English
Hands on experience with social media management
Strong IT skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint and graphics programs, CMS)
Creative writing skills
Ability to multitask and work good under pressure
Excellent time management skills
Problem solving oriented
Ability to work in team as well as independently
