Under the guidance and supervision of the Communications Expert and dotted line to the HQ Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit, the Communications Associate is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of creative, innovative, and inclusive country communications strategy and plan to ensure effective communication of GGGI with various target audiences including partners, donors, the media, and targeted audiences. The Communication Associate also supports GGGI’s global communication and knowledge sharing interventions and is part of the Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing (KS) team.

PURPOSE

The focus of this role is to assist the execution of both internal and external communications in order to promote GGGI as well as disseminate the initiatives of all GGGI projects in Vietnam as well as support HQ communication and knowledge sharing initiatives. The Communications Associate supports the development and implementation of communication plans, including the creation of content and visual, media engagement, collateral production, and use of digital platforms (social media, website, newsletter…) to inform and engage target audiences.

The Communications Associate actively contributes to building a positive reputation of GGGI through compelling message and creative visuals that are in line with GGGI values, branding guidelines, communications and knowledge sharing strategy, and country objectives.

ENGAGEMENT
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with national and local media outlets and journalists with relevant coverage to GGGI’s work.
  • Liaise with communication service providers such as event organizers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of tasks, services, products…
  • Build a strong collaborative working relationship with the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit at HQ and ensure the smooth implementation of communication, branding guidelines and policies.
  • Actively engage with Global Communication team.
DELIVERY

The Communications Associate is responsible for supporting the execution of a range of communications functions including:

Content development, production, and dissemination

  • Draft and develop contents for media communications, including talking points, press releases, op-eds, website updates, factsheets, newsletters, and tailored contents for social media. Ensure that all information is up to date and accurate
  • Document success stories and work with the HQ Comms and KS team to publish and disseminate research products as appropriate.
  • Ensure alignment with GGGI’s and donors’ communications guidelines including visibility and branding. Ensure approval processes are fully in place.
  • Identify and produce high quality communication materials including blogs, reports, multi-media presentations for internal as well as external audiences.
  • Monitor coverage of Key GGGI Vietnam issues in national and regional media and track GGGI Vietnam media hits. Monitor articles relevant to GGGI’s work in Vietnam and distribute them to the wider team.
  • Develop communications products and collaterals such as brochures, media kit, presentations, factsheets, reports, promotional videos

Administration of GGGI Vietnam social media, website updates and internal communications channels

  • Administration of GGGI Vietnam social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter…) and website; ensure the use of online channels is in line with GGGI core values and best practices.
  • Ensure that activities of all GGGI Vietnam country programs are timely updated on internal communication channels.

Other support:

  • Support the communications of all GGGI events and webinars for country programs, press conferences and media relations activities. and initiatives by donors / partners to ensure alignment and complementarity as needed.
  • Coordinate photography for/of events, activities, etc. for use in publications, media, etc. and maintain graphic and photo files and media archive.
  • Prepare periodical and ad hoc communications reports, including media tracking and analysis
  • As brand-watcher, proofread and support format project documents, training materials…
  • Any other tasks related to his/her work scope as requested by Country Representative and/or program managers.
REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the field of Marketing, Media, Journalism, Design, or related fields.
  • Preferred minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in media, content production, digital communications, graphic design, event organization, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese and English, with experiences in translation and transcriptions, conveying messages to different audiences using diverse media.
  • Experience in editing and proofreading corporate communications documents for public dissemination.
  • An ability to get one’s message understood clearly by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information.
  • Proficiency in the use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn…), design software (Adobe Suite, Photoshop), Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in creating email communication campaigns, and online event management.
  • Excellent command of English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken.

FUNCTIONAL

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences.
  • Flexible, creative, and able to drive innovation for communication.
  • Experience in CRM database management, video production, storyboard development and other multimedia skills are a plus.
  • Organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with good attention to individual project details.
  • Knowledge and trainability in the latest advances in the use of digital tools and social media.
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively and embrace new approaches.
  • Work experience from an international/multicultural environment preferred.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to reputational risks.
