Job Context

Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation is on a mission to end human trafficking. We believe that every child deserves exceptional care and a chance to thrive. Blue Dragon kids are street kids, children with disabilities, and young people who have been trafficked. After rescuing children from danger and slavery, we reunite them with their family and provide all the services needed for recovery and growth while advocating for improvements to policy and law.
The Communications and Fundraising team ensures the success of Blue Dragon’s work through fundraising, communications and marketing, and by maintaining our excellent reputation with donors, sponsors and the wider community.

Key Objectives

  • Uphold Blue Dragon’s mission and values.
  • Lead a team to implement Blue Dragon’s communication strategies and activities to uphold our missions and achieve the organisation’s goals.
  • Contribute to Blue Dragon’s communications strategy.
  • Support the Communications team to fulfil its strategies and objectives.

Main responsibilities

The position responsibilities will be negotiated with the Manager and the Communications Strategist and are expected to include:
Team Management
  • Lead team members to ensure that everyone is working toward common goals.
  • Support team members to develop and implement plans and to be accountable for their results.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Fundraising manager to lead and support the team.
Social and Digital Media
  • Lead the communications team to keep Blue Dragon’s website up-to-date, fresh and optimised.
  • Work within a team to plan, write, schedule and post online content.
  • Work within a team to monitor analytics and engagement, and respond to messages on social media.
  • Manage Blue Dragon’s mailing list and work within a team to implement the email marketing plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of Blue Dragon’s online presence, updating relevant pages regularly.
  • Keep abreast of current and evolving practices in social and digital media, fundraising and communications, and contribute to optimise Blue Dragon’s online and offline presence.
Appeals and Campaigns
  • Lead the Communications team to prepare, run and assess appeals and campaigns.
Communications Materials
  • Coordinate and assist the Communications team with the development and production of materials, including newsletters, presentations, annual reports, brochures, media packs as well as products for events and branding materials for Blue Dragon facilities.
  • Assist with maintaining the effectiveness of sharing information within the communications team, and within the Communications & Fundraising department.
Other
  • Ensure that Communications manuals are up to date; contribute to their development and oversee their implementation..
  • Host visitors and attend events.
  • Identify needs and problems and initiate solutions and improvements.
Support
The Communications Coordinator supports the Communications and Fundraising department, and is closely supported by the Communications team and the Manager.

Key selection criteria

Essential
  • Demonstrated commitment to Blue Dragon’s values.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in social media, website development and the digital environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a communications, marketing, event management or public relations environment.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and complete work accurately and to deadlines.
  • Desire and proven ability to work as part of a team with great interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a team & proven leadership skills.
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience in working in a non-profit environment.
  • Speak Vietnamese.
