GENERAL INFORMATION
- OPEN TO: All non-U.S. citizen university students residing in Vietnam
- POSITION: Community Liaison Office (CLO) Student Intern (4 position(s))
- CLOSING DATE: August 06, 2024
- WORK HOURS: Part-time (10-20 hours/week)
- LENGTH OF INTERSHIP PROGRAM: Up to twelve (12) months
- INTERNSHIP DURATION: Cycle 1: February 2025-September 2025 Cycle 2: September 2025 - March 2026
DESCRIPTION OF INTERN POSITION
The CLO Internship program benefits both the U.S. Consulate General and student interns by providing a valuable educational experience to students while assisting the Consulate General accomplish important mission goals. CLO Interns will be responsible for:- Answer community questions by researching local resources
- Help with bi-weekly CLO newsletters
- Organize activities for the community
- Work with the CLO team to conduct CLO daily work.
- Provide language help to American families.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.- Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of participation in the program.
- Students who are either Vietnamese citizens or Vietnamese permanent legal residents are eligible for the intern program. For permanent legal residents, a valid legal residency permit is required for consideration.
- Students must be in good academic standing at their current educational institution and provide a certified transcript and must provide written permission from the educational institution in which the student is enrolled.
- Students must be currently enrolled as a college/university student in Vietnam through the entire duration of the internship.
- Student must be able to obtain and hold the medical and security certification from the Consulate.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Language requirement: Must be fluent in Speaking/Reading/Writing English (this will be tested). PLEASE NOTE: INTERNS ARE NOT CONSIDERED U.S. CONSULATE GENERAL EMPLOYEES ❖ The intern will not be considered as a Federal employee. ❖ There will be NO employment benefits associated with this position: annual leave accrual, sick leave, etc. → There will be NO compensation or payment.HOW TO APPLY

Statement of interest form which should include the student's objectives and motivation in seeking an internship and how their academic courses and other experiences relate (Attached).- Gratuitous Service Agreement (Attached).
- Official transcripts illustrating good academic standing.
- Written permission from the educational institution.
- A copy of ID card and student card.
- Any additional documents (e.g., essays, certificates, awards, copies of degrees earned, etc.) that address the qualification requirements of the position as listed above.
