I. Background

Vietnam’s economy has performed well in 2019, with GDP expanding by an estimated 6.8 percent, public debt reduced by almost 8 percentage point of GDP since 2016, and a trade balance surplus for the fourth year in a row. These results are remarkable in the context of a slowing global economy¹. Along with that growth is the formation and development of small and medium-sized public enterprises in a number of industries including: agriculture, forestry, transportation, import and export. Beside the positive impacts it has on economic growth, the development of these businesses also brings negative impacts to the environment in general, and conservation of wildlife species in particular.

In order to conduct the situational analysis and assess impacts of development of these above mentioned enterprises in the period of 2014-2019 on wildlife conservation, WCS proposes to work with a partner who has extensive experience and expertise in the field of data to gather, select, and extract companies’ listing information based on criteria set by WCS (see table 1.1). The collected information will then be entered this information into the data collection sheet designed and provided by WCS. Based on this information, WCS will analyze and evaluate on the situation of businesses developments and registrations of targeted sectors and possibly assess its impacts on wildlife conservation.

II. Objectives: The recruited data service company will work under the supervision of WCS to run the following sub-activities:

Collect, select, and extract listing information of companies that are still active in the 2014-2019 period according to the criteria set out in Table 1.1.
Enter the information collected above into the data collection form that designed and provided by WCS.

IV. Requirements (Selection criterias):

Strong expertise in data collection and management;
Strong skills in inputting, cleaning, and handling large amount of data;
Strong skills in selecting, filtering data from open source by pre-selected criteria.

V. Professional fee and expenses: The estimated budget and corresponding work plan will be provided by the service provider/independent consultant and approved by WCS in compliance with WCS Vietnam's norms. VI. Application Procedure:
