GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Director of External Relations is responsible for all VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) activities that relate to the public from marketing, communications, event, fundraising, public/media relations, and program promotion perspectives. At times some of these functions will report to the Director of External Relations directly or sometimes on a dotted line, but the Director of External Relations is always the last word on the external interface VCF has with others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects and reports relevant department’s social media results/accomplishments/program impact monthly.
- Develops and implements strategic communications, public relations, and branding campaigns that increase public awareness and support of VCF programs and activities and oversees its budgets.
- Advises the CEO and other Directors or head of Departments on current and potential public relations, marketing, and communication issues.
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness and efficiency of internal and external information, media relations, and external relations programs of the VCF.
- Directs all media relations for the VCF to ensure accurate and timely events and news coverage. This will cover but is not limited to coordinating media interviews, news conferences, ceremonies, and other public relations events.
- Directs the development and maintenance of the VCF’s collateral.
- Directs, coordinates, and procures mass media relations and advertising, including radio, television, newspaper, magazines, social media networks, podcasts, and websites.
- Directs the development and editing of various publications, including news releases, feature articles, news stories, postings, monthly newsletters, reports and other communications.
- Directs developing and maintaining the VCF’s website, social media networks, and digital marketing.
- Prepares informative materials, scripts, speeches, and other communications for the CEO, other Directors, or heads of Departments.
- Provides expertise and guidance to VCF staff in developing, implementing, and enhancing their public relations skills that will contribute to achieving VCF goals and objectives.
- Manages crisis communication to mitigate adverse news events and coverage.
- Builds and fosters relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, donors, governmental authorities and community leaders, to obtain their support of VCF.
- Works closely with all key stakeholders to develop and implement joint communications strategies to support the partnership and promote VCF programs and images.
- Plans and supervises the implementation of all events, including events with partners, press events, and fundraising events, manages event calendar and ensures the highest quality and cost-effective of these events.
- Manages and supports meaningful event committees and guides the participation of staff, auxiliaries, Board members, funding partners, and other volunteers in events.
- Supervise event consultants, as needed, and stay abreast of event trends, venues, vendors, and technologies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, External Relations, International Relations, or similar fields. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Five to eight years of experience in the related position
- Experience working in international organizations, familiar with the non-governmental and non-profit sectors in Vietnam
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Speaking/Reading/Writing in both English and Vietnamese is required (this will be tested).
- Great problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, a keen eye for details, and the ability to see an overview of problems
- Demonstrate timely decision-making ability and extensive judgment in planning and carrying out tasks using diplomacy.
- Have a passion for charity, especially for children and women
- Ability to travel locally.

- Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
