Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. 1. Nature of the consultancy: To edit the report “Situation Analysis of Migrant Health in Viet Nam.” 2. Objective: The consultant will provide a ready-to-print report based on the final draft provided by IOM. In particular, the consultant will play a role as a copy-editor and a proof-reader who will edit and format the document in compliance with guideline specification and deadlines. 3. IOM Project to which the Consultancy is contributing: The project “Situation Analysis of Migrant Health in Viet Nam.” 4. Tasks to be performed under this contract:

a) Review, rewrite, and edit to improve the language used in line with IOM/international standard.

b) Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax; marking copy with standard proofreading marks to notify IOM of necessary changes.

c) Re-wording/re-working sentences or whole sections of text.

d) Verify facts, dates, and statistics using standard reference sources.

e) The editing process will include a revision of current tables, images and figures to achieve an optimal flow of information and presentation of the findings.

f) Read material to determine index items and arrange them alphabetically or topically, indicating page or chapter location.

g) Organize production and print-ready copy and return to IOM in due course.

5. Tangible and measurable output of the work assignment.

The output of the consultancy is a final ready-to-print report.

6. Realistic delivery dates and details as to how the work must be delivered.

- The consultant should expect several rounds of comments and discussions at this stage, for which patience and flexibility will be essential

- The duration of the consultancy is estimated between 20 days, intermittently, commencing on 23 October 2019 and terminating on 31 December 2019.

- The ready-to-print report will be delivered to IOM by 31 December 2019.

7. Performance indicators for the evaluation of results (value of services rendered about their cost).

Criteria for the consultant evaluation include:

- A clear understanding of the scope of the assignment

- Demonstrate professional competence and mastery of the subject matter of the consultancy

- Offer different options to solve problems to meet clients’ needs

- Results obtained during consultancy are consistent with the agreed Terms of Reference

- Accurately judged the amount of time and resources needed to accomplish a task

- Identify the key issues and come to the heart of the problem quickly

8. Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience in communication and editing technical documents in English.

- High level English essential.

- Ability to synthesize complex documents into key messages.

- Experience with editing and proofreading documents and familiarity with IOM’s style

- Experience in communication on matters related to social protection an asset.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible attitude.
