Summary

You, as Education and Communication Officer, are responsible for supporting and implementing educational concepts with focus on wild animal protection, environment and nature conservation, demand reduction and animal welfare, as well as for supporting the implementation of FOUR PAWS Viet’s communication plans and for supporting the coordination of the Volunteer Program.

Primary / general responsibilities

  • Implement and improve existing FOUR PAWS’s education programs such as: Youth Engagement Program and Conservation Awareness Program.
  • Implement and enrich the education tour concept and programs for BEAR SACNTUARY Ninh Binh.
  • Implement and enrich the education programs on nature conservation, wildlife product demand reduction and animal welfare for FOUR PAWS Viet
  • Support the implementation of Four Paws Viet’s communication plans.
  • Support volunteer activities.

Specific responsibilities

1. Implement and improve existing FOUR PAWS’s education programs such as: Youth Engagement Program and Conservation Awareness Program.

  • Research, study and improve the content of the programs
  • Coordinate and deliver workshop/training activities
  • Maintain the FOUR PAWS Viet education board game production
  • Maintain a database on partners and participants
  • Maintain networking with students
  • Make necessary adjustment or improvement to the programs when needed.

2. Implement and enrich the education tour concept and programs for Bear Sanctuary Ninh Binh.

  • Enrich educational tour concept and programs for BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh
  • Deliver custom made education tours for businesses, adults, and school groups

3. Implement and enrich the education programs on nature conservation, wildlife product demand reduction and animal welfare for Four Paws Viet.

  • Research, study and develop education programs on nature conservation, wildlife product demand reduction and animal welfare.
  • Create content for programs proposals and profiles for collaboration and fundraising purposes.
  • Coordinate education programs’ events and activities

4. Support the implementation of Four Paws Viet’s communication plans.

  • Support the creating of content covering Four Paws Viet and Bear Sanctuary Ninh Binh news and projects for online and offline platforms.
  • Support the coordination of Four Paws Viet communication print materials, signage system and media library.

5. Support volunteer activities

  • Support the volunteer training.
  • Support the coordination of the functional units in training and managing volunteers.
  • Support the coordination of volunteers’ extra activities (travel to Ninh Binh’s attractions and locations are required)

Additional / individual duties (optional)

  • Translate documents from English into Vietnamese and vice versa when required.
  • Supporting foreign staff members and partners on site when needed.
  • Deliver educational tour when possible/needed.
  • Purchasing for Education and Communication Unit.

LOCATION: BEAR SANCTUARY NINH BINH, Ky Phu commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province, Vietnam.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Education (priority to those who have pedagogical certificate)
  • Proficient in English
  • Experience in holding events for children (e.g. organizing experimental/life skills courses for children, teaching children with Montessori, Reggio, and other methods.)
