ERM has an opportunity for an experienced leader to join our global consulting firm as an Environmental, Health and Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) Partner in the Vietnam office.

ERM Vietnam

ERM has worked in Vietnam since 1993, and first opened an office in 1998.  Our rapidly growing team includes both local and international consultants with the technical expertise and detailed local knowledge required to address the particular needs of the region and deliver EHS and sustainability services across Vietnam.

We work for major multinational investors in the power and renewables, oil & gas, manufacturing, and technology sectors, and with international development banks and financial intermediaries.  Key practices in Vietnam office in Transactions Services, Environmental and Social Assessments, EHS Performance & Assurance, and Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change.

Responsibilities:

Based on the experience, qualifications, and unique strengths of the successful candidate, this role will include a combination of the following responsibilities.

A focus on Sales and Business Development within our focused sectors.  In so doing, the successful candidate will need strengths in strategic and technical consulting/leadership, delivery of complex client challenges, and direct client engagement/support with the goal of strengthening the partnership we are building with a number of our key client accounts.

The role includes collaboration with ERM’s Account Directors to develop and implement account strategies, sales, delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients, and playing a key role in growing ERM’s services across its broad portfolio of clients and service offerings.

  • Lead the EHSS growth and development of the business in Vietnam.

  • Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the globe.

  • As Partner-in-Charge, lead and manage projects in ESH and Sustainability areas.

  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.

  • Meet business financial metrics and targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.

  • Partner with Account Directors to actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy.

  • Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of ERM’s capabilities within key client organizations, to identify and shape clients’ needs for ERM services.

  • Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships.

  • Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high potential, top opportunities.

  • Manage capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS in engineering, science, business, or related discipline; advanced degree and/or professional registration a plus.

  • Extensive years of progressive experience in a consulting environment, or a related, equivalent field, working at a high-level with corporate, financial, and legal clients; preferably with oil and gas, power & renewables, infrastructure and/or manufacturing sector experience.

  • Strong understanding of local and international environmental health safety and sustainability management requirements and practices such as IFC Performance standards, ADB Safeguard policy, Equator Principles, OECD, etc.

  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic portfolios.

  • Well-versed in a variety of EHS and Sustainability topics.

  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the marketplace.

  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.

  • Experience in running a small/medium-scaled business or team.

  • Organizationally savvy in order to work across a matrix of line management, services, and other sectors.

  • Positive outlook, collaborative, and driven by the success of ERM as a global company.
