External Relations Officer


Background Passerelles numériques (PN) is a French non-profit organisation created in 2005. Our mission is to enable highly disadvantaged youths, through their abilities and their commitment, to access education and technical and vocational training, in the sector of Information Technology. We work to build strong employability which will allow them and their families to sustainably escape poverty, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries. Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains more than 460 students and employs around 100 people based in these three countries including a small team in France. Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom, JP Morgan and Microsoft and also receives support from individual donors. In Vietnam, Passerelles Numériques started its mission in 2010, with a training center based in Da Nang, in Central Vietnam. In 2012, the first class graduated with 27 students and most of them had a job just after graduation. Today, PN Vietnam (PNV) trains 130 students and graduated 298 young disadvantaged since 2010 Website: https://www.passerellesnumeriques.org Context and mission The External Relations Office at Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PNV) is in charge of maintaining and developing the relationships between the organisation and the partner companies and prospects, with the main objectives of promoting PN program towards companies thus securing internship placement for PNV students and facilitating job placement for graduates as well as raising funds. Duties and Responsibilities  
  • PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT 
Maintain, develop and record relations with partner companies, according to PNV methodology and guidelines. Identify and contact potential partners for company visits/job placement/internship/orientation session/workshops for students and fundraising… Contribute to the organisation and logistics of events and actions to promote PNV image and strategy  
  • JOB PLACEMENT
Coordinate and share companies’ job vacancies to graduates. Support Professional Life Trainer to organize workshops, company visits Conduct annually Social Impact Survey toward Alumni Follow up and work with Alumni to ensure effective & proper communication  
  • INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT
Contribute to the preparation of annual internship action plan Prepare all documentation related to the company agreements and follow-up Follow up of students’ situations during their internship  
  • COMMUNICATION 
Contribute to the Facebook or other social marketing network editing, according to PN guidelines Take part in developing communication materials Maintain good contacts with external media Take part in communication plans and initiatives  
  • FUNDRAISING
Propose and participate in fundraising activities Ensure the follow-up and recording of donations Coordinate & organize volunteer activities from donors & partners Follow up and maintain relationships with donors  
  • OTHERS
Produce reports as requested Attend Selection trips   Skills and experience
  • EDUCATION Level of education: Bachelor Specialty: Communication, External relations, Event management, English
  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Experience length: none, 1 or 2 years Field: Communication, Social activities, External relations, Fundraising, Event management 
  • JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES External relation Proficient in editorial tools of photos, videos (Photoshop, etc.) Knowledge in both business and NGO worlds Knowledge of Vietnamese communication common practices 
  • IT SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point) 
  • LANGUAGES English, Vietnamese
Status and conditions
    • External relationship with Partners (companies, NGOs..) – Internal relationship with PNV staff and students
