Finance & Accounting Specialist

NEPCon (Nature, Economy and People Connected) is a non-profit organisation that works for sustainable land use and climate-friendly solutions. With 250+ staff around the world, our projects build capacity, raise awareness, conserve nature and streamline sustainability through innovation. In the role of Finance and Accounting Specialist you will be supporting and responsible of the coordination and administration of finance and accounting tasks in Vietnam. You will primarily be responsible for:
  • Process suppliers’ invoices (approvals, recording, payment preparation etc.)
  • Process clients’ invoices (preparation, sending, payment follow-up etc.)
  • Process clients’ invoices (preparation, sending, payment follow-up etc.)
  • Assist with daily recording of bank transactions in NEPCon’s finance system
  • Process and review staff expense reports
  • Review personnel credit card statements and reconciliation to staff expense reports
  • Record other business transactions (revenues, expenses, accruals) in NEPCon’s finance system
  • Assist with various accounting and finance tasks for NEPCon group entities (e.g., booking of bank transactions and comparison of accounting balances vs. bank statements, various account reconciliations)
  • Assist with maintaining accounting documentation
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Other tasks as assigned
Professional requirements We imagine that you have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting or a related field. You have 3+ years of experience with accounting, financial reporting and in addition to this:
  • You are fluent in English and Vietnamese language and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both.
  • You are a proficient user of the MS Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • You have a good general understanding of administrative IT systems, and the ability to learn to work with new programmes fast.

  • You are well organised and have the ability to maintain structure in the office.
  • You have good planning and time management skills and an analytical approach.
  • You are proactive and can think one step ahead on practicalities.

  • You are a robust person, who have demonstrated that you can juggle multiple tasks.
  • You are a constructive team-player and have an open attitude towards other cultures, as we collaborate across borders in our organisation.

Position details
  • Work time: 40 hours/week
  • The position reports to our Global Accountant, based in Vietnam
  • Working location: Vietnam (exceptions may be considered upon agreement)
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Expected starting date: as soon as possible
