Background 

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization founded in Korea in 1991 to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. Currently, Good Neighbors has been working in 198 community development sites and 40 countries around the world.
East Asia Regional Coordination Office (RCO), representing the East Asia region, discusses issues and collects opinions from 08 current member countries - Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. RCO’s functions include but are not limited to: coordination of planning activities within the region; supporting member countries for operation, activity management, and finance management; supporting fundraising and resource mobilization.

2. MAIN DUTIES

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Finance Assistant will deliver support and coordination for the overall financial management of GN Field Countries within the East Asia region and of Regional Office. DETAILS         
1.       Financial management of the region
  • Stay in touch with Field Countries’ finance teams to receive and answer/advise them on finance-related questions;
  • Review financial reports from Field Countries, including Monthly Financial Report (MFR), Year-End Financial Report, Financial Self-Inspection, etc. to keep track of their execution status and provide feedback if necessary;
  • Consolidate overall report(s) and submit to global office level;
  • Review Field Countries’ requests for acquisition and disposal of assets, provide consultancy if needed, and follow up on the result;
  • Support global office in auditing Field Countries’ operational health, internal control, risk factors, and effectiveness of the processes.
2.       Financial management of the office
  • Record and keep track of Regional Office’s income and expenses;
  • Support Regional Coordinator and Regional Assistant Manager in building yearly Plan of Action and income request(s) if necessary;
  • Support Regional Assistant Manager in building financial and other related policies and guidelines for RCO;
  • Control budget execution and adjust Plan of Action if necessary;
  • Support other staff in RCO in preparing and reviewing invoices and financial documents.
3.       Others
  • Implement other related tasks assigned by Regional Coordinator and Regional Assistant Manager.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant fields   Requirements:
  • At least 01-year relevant working experience;
  • INGOs working experience is preferable;
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve arising problems.
Skills
  • Be flexible, responsible and innovative in work;
  • Good communication and management skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as with the team;
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good English language skills in writing & speaking;
  • Good skills in computer use;
  • Experience in using Quickbooks is a plus.
Attitude
  • Sociable, responsive, committed to working with GNI for at least 01 year;
  • Accountable and transparent.
