FINANCE INTERN
About Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung
The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is an internationally operating non-profit institution that has become a provider of political education and a center for progressive social research in both Germany and throughout the world. It is part of a transnational, progressive and solidary network striving for democratic and social participation and empowerment. RLS works within the tradition of workers’ and womens’ movements and is affiliated with the German political party “The Left/ Die Linke”.
Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, Regional Office Southeast Asia, Hanoi (RLS SEA) embraces the mission of supporting transformation countries, such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam to a socially just, sustainable, participatory and democratic society. The RLS SEA has been opened in April 2009 in Hanoi and is currently cooperating with approximately 15 partner organizations such as academic institutions and universities, non-government organizations (NGOs) and government institutions as well as with parliaments. RLS SEA’s activities and partnerships focus on a variety of issues under three major themes, i.e. “program components” including “social justice”, “socio-ecological transformation” and “international dialogue”.
DESCRIPTION
RLS SEA now seeks for a Finance Intern with the detailed information as follows:
A. SCOPE OF SERVICES
1. Support to fulfill the accounting work for RLS SEA , including:
- Support to check the correctness, properness and validity of all financial documents such as receipts, invoices, vouchers of expenditures, business trip claims, contracts of RLS SEA and file the financial documents in a good order on a monthly basis;
- Support to collect all missing financial documents for the expenditures of RLS SEA to ensure the time target of monthly financial reports.
- Support to translate financial documents from Vietnamese language into English language.
- Support to file the financial documents in accordance with RLS’s filing structure.
- Support to complete the reports and other required tasks related to finance, as well as budget plan for a certain period of time (quarterly, annually) for RLS SEA, if any.
2. Support to fulfill the project financial management of RLS’s cooperation partners in Vietnam and in Laos, Cambodia, including:
- Support to check the correctness, properness and validity of all financial documents such as receipts, invoices, vouchers of expenditures of the RLS SEA’s cooperation partners in Vietnam, and in Laos, Cambodia.
- Support to check the compatibility of the hard copies of financial documents with the financial reports of the cooperation partners in the excel files.
- Support to check the compatibility of the financial reports in comparison with the budget breakdown of the cooperation partners.
- Support to contact the cooperation partners for further discussion and requirements on their financial reports. Support to collect all missing financial documents from the cooperation partners.
- Support to check and manage the data & balance of the cooperation partners’ financial reports.
- Support to translate financial documents from Vietnamese language into English language.
- Support to file the financial documents in accordance with RLS’s filing structure.
3. Effectively communicate relevant information to the Director and the team of RLS SEA to ensure the standard of the funding regulations of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are maintained.
4. Commit to comply to RLS SEA’s confidential terms & conditions.
B. QUALIFICATION, SKILL & COMPETENCES
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor in Economics, Accounting, Banking & Finance or similar field;
- Professional experience in financial management, book keeping and accounting is an asset.
Skills and Competences
- Proficient in English speaking, reading and writing;
- Good skills in using MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook;
- Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully;
- Team-oriented: proven ability and motivation to collaborate with other, find solutions and share successes together with colleagues and partners.
C. INTERSHIP AGREEMENT & DURATION
- Type of agreement: Internship Agreement with payment of supporting fee.
- Duration: Expected as of the 1st of November 2019 to the 31st March 2020.
