Background on Hagar

Hagar, established in 1994, is a specialist trauma-informed care agency that works primarily with women and children suffering from trauma as a result of human trafficking, slavery and abuse. Since 2009, Hagar Vietnam has responded to the needs of survivors of human trafficking, violence, and abuse nationally through community-based services and training programs. Today, Hagar implements programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Singapore, and Vietnam; and through partners in Myanmar and the Solomon Islands.
In 2022, Hagar Vietnam reached more than 689.720 people directly and indirectly through our five 2023-2025 strategic goals: Heal survivors, Scale prevention efforts, Increase capacity to impact, Promote awareness and influence systemic change, and Empower and equip survivors.
Hagar Vietnam responds to the needs of vulnerable women and children to receive multi-sectoral trauma-informed support and social services to heal and recover. We build awareness of families and local authorities on the impact trauma has upon survivors, and survivor-friendly strategies to prevent re-traumatization. Aligned to our strategic goals, our key activities including: Heal, Prevention, Partner, Empower and Influence.

Hagar International in Vietnam is now looking for passionate and qualified Vietnamese candidates to fulfil 1 half time Finance Officerfor 6 months based in Hanoi office. Travel to the provinces based on funding, different project needs and client needs. Please see the attached file for detail JD for the post.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES  
 Position Requirements

Essential or Preferable

Education
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Qualified accounting professional (CPA, ACCA) would be an advantage
     Required

Preferred

Knowledge/Skills
  • In depth understanding of accounting and procurement principles and practices
  • Experience in working with Accounting Software; experience with QuickBooks Accounting Software is preferable (but not essential)
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Management, organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Word/Excel skills
  • Fluent in English both in writing and speaking

Language
  • Knowledge of the English language: speaking, reading, writing, and listening.

Experience
  • Minimum 3-years experience in finance, procurement, accounting and financial management.
  • Experience working in NGO
