GreenViet Biodiversity conservation centre is a non-government established on October 4, 2012 in Da Nang. Main activities of GreenViet are doing researches, conducting communication and education projects in saving biodiversity, forming and developing the environmental friendly lifestyle.
GreenViet received a grant from The European Union in Vietnam to implement the project entitled: Establishing a funding foundation for biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in Danang city, Vietnam with the total budget of 600.000 EUR equal to 15 billion dong. The objectives
of the project is mobilize a sustainable and transparent financing source for CSOs to protect biodiversity and sustainable environment in Da Nang City and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands.
The duration of the project is from July 1st 2020 to December 31st 2023 to achieve 5 main results:
Result 1: 20 billion VND is raised for biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability in Da Nang City and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands. The fund is contributed by private sectors and local people for nature conservation.
Result 2: Initiatives for biodiversity conservation and environment protection of Vietnamese organization in Da Nang City and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands are promoted through training for 50 organizations (CSOs, Women unions, Youth unions) about developing initiatives for biodiversity conservation and sustainable environment in Da Nang city and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands, funding for 21 initiatives to implement during this project.
Result 3:
Conducting 4 raising awareness program to raise awareness of communities and businesses about the importance of working together to deal with biodiversity conservation and environmental protection issues in Da Nang City and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands.
Result 4:
Corporation with businesses in raising fund from their CSR/CSV (social responsible find) for biodiversity conservation and environment of Da Nang city and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands through networking events and connections between local businesses with social organizations, conducting product exhibitions in environmental protection, awarding and honoring 30 best businesses that engaging with sustainable environment of the city and the region.
Result 5:
Conducting activities to protect the Red-shanked douc langur population in Son Tra peninsula, including surveys to update its population and distribution at the beginning and end of the project, conducting monitoring programs quarterly and raising awareness programs for visitors about biodiversity conservation and environmental protection in Son Tra peninsula.
