SEEKNG FOR FUNDRAISING OFFICER TO JOIN OUR PROJECT

“ESTABLISING NATURE CONSERVATION FUND FOR CENTRAL VIETNAM”

This project aims to establish a funding foundation to support local CSOs, NGOs, and community groups in Central and Highland Vietnam focusing on nature & biodiversity conservation become more financial sustainable by increasing and diversifying funding sources to these organizations. This project is funded by the EU delegation to Vietnam, implemented by GreenViet and GSI (Germany).

JOB DESCRIPTION: Fundraising Officer

Location: GreenViet, Son Tra, Da Nang, Viet Nam

Report to: Project Coordinator, Project Manager

Gross salary: 17,250,000 vnd/month

Main purpose of role:

To develop and build a nature conservation fund to support CSOs and NGOs in Central Vietnam and build strong relationships with donors, as well as contributing to the project’s overall fundraising strategy and operations.

Strategy

  •  Contribute to the development of the project fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on individuals and businesses;
  •  Work with the Project Manager to plan, implement and measure impact of donor engagement strategies;
  • Support the Development team to recruit and work with board members and advisors, who will act as advocates for new fundraising initiatives and open doors to new income streams;
  •  Regularly report on fundraising outputs or the impact of particular fundraising initiatives to the staff and board;
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in fundraising opportunities and best practice and recommend changes in our funding strategies;
  • Contribute to the general morale and direction of the project, help to support other staff in their work and contribute ideas and feedback to the team.

Income generation:

  • Sustain and grow income from individual donors in line with agreed targets;
  • Identify and research potential donors for project EU and work alongside the Director and Project Manager to develop relationships with potential donors;
  • Process individual donations, including recording donations, thanking supporters in a timely fashion and responding to ad hoc supporter queries;
  • Ensure high quality ongoing communication to maintain and develop supportive relationships with potential and existing donors, which will lead to an increase in longer term individual giving;
  • Organise engagement events and fundraising events;

Donor data management

  •  Ensure that individual donor contacts and activity are accurately recorded on our donor database;
  •  Support other staff members to confidently use Salesforce within their work. Trusts, foundations and corporate support
  • Support the Project Manager on making funding applications to trusts and foundations;
  • Work with the project Manager to implement the project fundraising policy so that GreenViet can respond appropriately to fundraising approaches by companies.

Technical skills, knowledge, and experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing relationships with partners
  • Experience of organising fundraising events; and, communication for fund-raising activities
  • Experience of running appeals and developing fundraising materials;
  • Ability to write persuasive content to encourage support;
  • High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, databases);
  • Understanding of data protection regulations; of the functioning of CSR/CSV in businesses

Desirable

  • Experience of fundraising, ideally from institutions, trusts and/or foundations
  • Knowledge and understanding of biodiversity conservation
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of fundraising from trusts and foundations;
  • Working knowledge level of English or higher (verbal and written)
