Global Pharmacy Adviser


The Opportunity Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the permanent Global Pharmacy Advisor in any Save the Children Office location. Save the Children is the world's leading independent organisation for children, celebrating its 100 years in 2019 as a US$2bn dollar organisation with 25,000 staff in 117 countries - health and nutrition programs being the largest component of its global activity. In 2018, we reached over 33 million children and carers globally with our Health & Nutrition services - including over a million cases benefiting from direct medical service provision by Save the Children staff. Last year, we procured nearly USD 20m worth of medicines and medical supplies globally and directly delivered medical services at 225 health facilities across 10 countries and provided technical assistance to 1944 MoH facilities in another 8 countries. We employed over 450 medical staff across 21 countries globally, including medical doctors and specialists, nurses, midwives, nutritionists, pharmacists and technicians. One of our 2030 Ambitions is to inspire a breakthrough for child survival - that no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday. This role will play an instrumental role in contributing to achieving this breakthrough by contributing to strengthen Save the Children's pharmacy services globally. As a core member of the medical team, the Global Pharmacy Advisor will lead on the pharmacy services workstream and will contribute to achieving the team's 2019-21 strategic objectives by working across the following areas to enable safe and quality pharmacy services globally:
  • Technical inputs to develop/strengthen relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Technical assistance to a portfolio of country programmes globally
  • Technical support to build capacity of SCI country, regional and global staff
  • Contribute to strengthen strategic relationships and partnerships
  • Contribute to strategic communications and technical publications

  • No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday
  • All children learn from a quality basic education and that,
  • Violence against children is no longer tolerated.
