RECRUITMENT FOR INCOME GENERATION OFFICER Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has works in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children. Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 4 provinces: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. GNI in Vietnam sponsors about 10,000 children and implements community development projects (CDP) in education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in 6 different areas of Vietnam. Job title: IG Officer (Income Generation Officer) Effective date: February, 2020 Location: Tan Lac, Hoa Binh Type of contract: Full time Reports to: Project Manager, IG Officers/ Team Leader/ Junior Manager in Head Office 1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Country Director, Junior Manager/Officers, Project Managers, Project Manager/Officers External: GNI’s Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities 2. MAIN DUTIES
  • Conduct survey to study socio-economic conditions, resources for development in the locale, propose, design appropriate programs and activities;
  • Participate in survey to establish new Income Generation (IG) groups, cooperatives in project area; prepare procedures to establish IG groups, cooperatives;
  • Receive the registering list to join IG groups, cooperatives;
  • Support IG groups, cooperatives to develop group regulation, production and business plan;
  • Regularly monitor, inspect activities of IG groups, cooperatives; Receive and check information, support and promote effective activities of IG groups;
  • Be involved in preparing Plan of Action (POA), implement annual plan of IG Division;
  • Contact and coordinate with other staff in the Division and other Division of Tan Lac CDP and HO to carry out activities effectively;
  • Liaise with local partners to provide advantageous conditions to implement programs effectively. Guide and ensure local partners to follow up working principle of GNI in implementing activities;
  • Manage and facilitate disbursement progress of in-charge activities; Coordinate with Community Development Committee (CDC), local authorities, group management team to collect revolving fund from households;
  • Monitor, summarize, archive documents, data related to IG activities, evaluate efficiency, outcomes of activities;
  • Counsel Project Manager and HO about efficiency and adjustment to programs/activities (if any);
  • Coordinate, research, design, implement and develop appropriate activities to support cooperatives, IG groups in Quyet Chien, Lung Van Commune in terms of production and consumption of products;
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Project Manager and Division Manager in HO.
3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Education
  • College or University degree in Agriculture, Crop Science, Plant Protection, etc. Preferred: Male, has permanent address in Tan Lac - Hoa Binh
Work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of similar role;
  • Have experience and skill in making plan and implementing activity
Skills
  • Work in group or work independently;
  • Good communication and presentation skill;
  • Able to work under high pressure;
  • Prefer candidate with good computer skill and English
Attitude
  • Enthusiastic in work;
  • Friendly, honest and hard-working;
  • Eager to learn
