About Teach for Vietnam (TFV)

Teach For Vietnam (TFV) is a young and dynamic organization with the vision that by 2050, all children in Vietnam will attain an excellent education. We aim to achieve our vision through running a two-year leadership program that recruits and develops young leaders from diverse backgrounds (called “fellows”) who will work in and help build a sustainable ecosystem supporting education equality and excellence. During the two years, fellows teach in high need schools and work with underprivileged students and communities. They will be equipped with deep local understanding, skills, and expertise to make a positive impact on students, local teachers, parents, and community at the grassroots level. They will also develop transferable skills and gain unique experiences that will set them up to be a part of our growing network of Alumni who are working together to transform education for all children after they complete the two-year leadership program. Teach For Vietnam is in its fourth year of operation and currently has 26 Fellows in the Quang Nam province in the central region of Vietnam. We aim to have 60 fellows and expand into 2 regions in the 2021 academic year.

Job description

The Tech Officer will work with the heads of government relations and development to create and execute an operational plan to achieve placement and development goals.

This position provides a unique opportunity for an individual with superior strategic thinking, communication, analysis, project management and stakeholder engagement skills to lead from the front in ensuring program implementation and financial sustainability for Teach for Vietnam.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project 1 – Database Management and Reporting

  • Create solutions for database management and reporting requirements for student impact, community impact, and fellow impact:
    • Create database framework and identify platform to capture data effectively
    • Implement database solution
    • Create automated solutions for reporting on weekly, monthly, quarterly and bi-annual basis
    • Integration between different platforms
  • Implement Salesforce for Recruitment and Selection, Fundraising and Government Relations

Project 2 – Changes to TFV website

  • Redesign website structure to a lean and simple website framework
  • Include website analytics
  • Change colour scheme and update information on org, impact, partners, resources, etc.

Project 3 – Infrastructure for Online Learning

  • Create Learning Management System that houses text and video based content on Moodle platform
  • Integrate data between ClassIn platform and LMS to create a unified database
  • Set up LMS such that it can be used by external parties

Project 4 – Resource hubs:

  • Create internal sites that can be used as a resource hub by stakeholders to house documents, videos, references, artefacts, etc.; 4 separate sites for teachers, students, school leaders and parents
  • Create an easy to search/categorization process for resources, e.g., using #

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Fellows and Staff member in using technology solutions on the ground

Candidate profile

  • Knowledge/experience of creating and managing process automation using Workflows, Process Builder
  • Proficiency in writing queries in SOQL, creating reports and presenting findings.
  • Experience in the use of Excel and/or any scripting tools for data transformation and aggregation.
  • Programming languages such as HTML5, JavaScript and PHP
  • Experience on is preferred but not essential
  • SEO knowledge
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to be resourceful, take responsibility and find effective solutions to problems
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Teamwork skills, because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
