Plastic pollution is becoming one of the world’s most urgent environmental challenges this decade. Plastic waste
has been found everywhere, from the environments we live in to our food and drink.
At the same time, Vietnam with its intensive economic development is witnessing dangerous environmental issues, one of which is plastic waste pollution. Vietnam is now ranked as the 4th country with the largest volume of plastic waste being discharged into the oceans each year.
As a leading conservation organization, WWF-Vietnam recognizes the severity of the plastic issue in the country. To address the root-cause of the problem, we want to work with local level of provinces or cities, districts, involving public and private sector to build pioneer models in plastic reduction. This strategy is the key to WWF’s Plastic Smart Cities (PSC) program.
