The Green Climate Fund internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. They encourage qualified women and men, in particular, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GCF’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Fund and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment.
The internship assignment will be based at the Fund’s headquarters in Songdo, Incheon, Republic of Korea. The duration of the internship is 6 months (with a possibility of an extension up to an additional 6 months).

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is the world’s largest dedicated fund helping developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and enhance their ability to respond to climate change. It was set up by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2010. GCF has a crucial role in serving the Paris Agreement, supporting the goal of keeping average global temperature rise well below 2 degrees C. It does this by channeling climate finance to developing countries, which have joined other nations in committing to climate action.

Eligibilities
- Enrolled or have graduated in a Master’s or Ph.D. program and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year from the period of graduation
- Have not accepted other internship assignments with the GCF before;
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French, Spanish, Arabic and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
