Within the agriculture team of GIZ’s green cluster (comprising all projects from priority area 2), projects with a focus on Vietnam as well as a number of regional initiatives on regional trade integration are bundled. The agriculture team is distributed over three locations in Vietnam: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. The Viet Nam country package of the global program “Green Innovation Centres in the Agriculture and Food Sector” in Viet Nam (GIC), implemented under the special initiative "ONE WORLD No Hunger" (SEWoH), commissioned to support the transition to higher resource efficiency and value creation in the Mekong Delta farming systems to adopt climate-smart and sustainable innovations in the rice and mango value chains that increase incomes, employment, and the quality of produce while reducing their environmental footprint.

The project is looking for an EXTERNAL candidate to fill the following position:

Junior Project Officer for Green Innovation Centre Project Duty station: Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam Duration: ASAP until 12/2023

Main responsibilities:

1.     Assistance on Monitoring and Evaluation work

  • Conduct data entry of project’s partners and beneficiaries participating in events such as training, workshop, study tours and ensure the accuracy of inputted data
  • Support the use and frequent updates of monitoring tools (AM tool)
  • Assist in data analysis, data visualization and reporting
  • Conduct field visits for monitoring the project implementation and for collecting data.
  • Support M&E Project Officer in conducting the endline and Evaluative Studies (EVAS)

2.     Assistance on knowledge management, communication, and project implementation

  • Assist the organization of project events (workshop, training, study tours)
  • Support the Communication Officer in content production in formats such as story writing, 2D designs and video for respective communications channels.
  • Support the translation of materials
  • Support the Senior Project Officer for value chain development in specific topics such as organizing trainings, workshops, meetings, studies and/or research

Minimum requirements:

  • University degree in agriculture and rural development, agricultural economics, environmental economics or equivalent
  • Good English command
  • Proficiency using Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with various computer programmes and software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and compliance with data security policy.
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Willing to travel
