Request for Proposals: Local Legal Support for Mines Advisory Group Vietnam

Background:

Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is an International Humanitarian Organization clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of community's worldwide. MAG has been operational in Quang Tri province since 1999 and then expanding to Quang Binh province in 2003. MAG also conducts risk education sessions during village meetings and at school level to ensure that communities are aware of explosive ordnance contamination and are briefed on how to stay safe in contaminated areas.

As a result of MAG’s work, millions of square metres of land have been released to communities for productive use, such as agriculture, schools, medical clinics, roads, community flood protection facilities and many other development projects. MAG supports the Government of Vietnam in achieving its national development goals. MAG also helps building the capacity of national mine action authorities in areas where we work.

Purpose:

MAG Vietnam is looking for a qualified lawyer or law firm with knowledge and expertise in local labour law and NGO legislation in Vietnam to represent MAG Vietnam when necessary and provide advice and guidance on legal matters as requested with the overall objective to ensure that MAG Vietnam programme operates within the standards of Vietnam Law and regulations.

Service duration: 12 months, starting from July 15th, 2021, subject to signature of the contract.
