Background:

MAG is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization clearing remnant of conflicts in current and former conflict zones. Present in Vietnam since 1999, MAG has been working to maximize community safety and help those most-at-risk reduce their chance of being in a UXO accident.

We are seeking a strong qualified Medic Supervisor (Med Sup) who will provide senior-level support to the Standard and Training Manager (STM) with the management and development of medical training and standards across the programme.

Major functions:

The Med Sup will work under the direct supervision of the STM, in completing the following duties

Overall responsibility of the project Senior Medic (SM) and team medics within their area of responsibility.
Direct support to the STM and Standard Training Unit Supervisors (STUS) on programme/project medical matters.
Responsible for assessing the practical skills of SM and team medics throughout the programme/project to ensure that their performance is kept to the required standard.
Overall responsibility to monitor and restock medical stores and equipment reserves. Issue and monitor medical equipment for teams, offices, programme/project living quarters and vehicles.
Monitor and conduct training for SM and team medics in Advanced Life Support.
Monitor Basic Life Support training conducted by team medics

Key requirements for the position include:

At least five years’ experience as a nurse in a medical facility or comparable expertise and three years’ experience working with MAG as a Senior Medic or comparable expertise
Having In-depth knowledge of treatment of minor injuries and sickness, Global MAG Medical Treatment Protocols, treatment of trauma, BLS, ALS.
Excellent management skills and able to ensure that the Province Senior medic and all team medics are pursuant to regulations.
Proactive with an analytical and solution-oriented approach
Determined and committed to high quality standards
Show a high level of honesty, transparency and fairness
Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure
