Pedagogical Coordinator (IECD)

Working time: 5 days per week (flexible)
Place: School site (D12) during training, Binh Thanh Office occasionally
Compensation: Salary range between 15 – 18M VND per month, 13th month bonus,
Package: health insurance and annual medical check, 18 days annual leave (excluding public holidays)
Contract duration: 2 years

You would work hand-in-hand with an international team of Project Manager, automotive professionals, young adults, a team of educators and university staffs.

CONTEXT

Since 2007, IECD has developed qualifying vocational training in the electrotechnics sector, through the Seeds of Hope program. The program was first launched in Lebanon and was then replicated in Egypt, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Libera, and Congo. It has successfully launched its intervention in Vietnam since 2017. The project, in its new chapter starting from 2023, in response to the global concerns on climate change and environmental issues, and the commitment of the Government of Vietnam to reach the net emission to “zero” by 2050, will continue to best prepare students for the future of the Electricity industry. For the coming years, the Seed of Hope program would like to achieve the following objectives:

Support the most vulnerable students so they gain confidence to operate as young professionals at a company that offers long-term professional prospects.
Give trainees the interest for the future energies in a fast-changing economy and the ability to become versatile, adaptable professionals thanks to an innovative teaching method, the strong involvement of professionals within the school and combined individual and collective projects.
Offer stable and quality job opportunities to as many students, with decent salary conditions, in positions that they would not have accessed without the training.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: Pedagogical Coordinator (PC) will act as a pedagogical leader of the program in the Training Centre. The Pedagogical Coordinator has a pivotal role in this process, taking responsibility for ensuring that pedagogical aspects are discussed, information is disseminated and the program is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively. Together with other members of the Training Centre staff, the Pedagogical Coordinator is involved in the training implementation, organization and execution of the day-to-day Training Centre life. Besides maintaining contact with School Coordinator, the PC should communicate directly and closely with every student and with all members of the teaching staff. The PC has also an important role for building and maintaining close relationships with professionals (Employers…) to ensure that pedagogical curricula match with their needs and that every student will find a relevant and durable job upon their graduation.

1. COORDINATION

Maintain an effective communication system within the Pedagogical Team and ensure efficient information flow between both internal and external relevant parties,
Manage the student’s recruitment process from beginning until end,
Elaborate and organise training plans, student's evaluation & students’ attendance
Assist the Project Manager in the planning and organizing of Training Centre practical training and academic affairs including coordination and management of English classes, Practical classes and Life skills classes
Actively participate in the supervision and management of instructors (Meeting, information management, goal setting, training, evaluation…)
Maintain close and good relationship with partner school
Working with communication staff when organize the activities for students

2. DORMITORY MANAGEMENT

Ensure close relationships with School Dormitory Manager to get a perfect overview of students’ life outside the school (Health, Food, Cleaning, Security, Activity)

3. LIFE SKILLS, GUIDANCE AND EMPLOYMENT TEACHING

For each topic of the curriculum, prepare a detailed lesson plan. Lesson plan must include introduction, activities through guided practice & independent practice and assessment.
Conduct sessions trough a lively and participative approach for the students including activities & games
Work together with the teachers of technical curriculum through regular meeting to connect life skills and professional skills and insure coherence of the program.

STUDENTS LIFE

In collaboration with the Project Manager, participate in every operation related to the well-being of our students in their daily life within and outside of the Training Centre (Scholarship, Personal Development activities, Life Skills lessons, Leisure…)
Coordinate and ensure the monthly individual follow up of each student, on a professional and personal standpoint.
Organize class councils with the teachers corps
Ensure the follow up of the students after training at least twice a year and animate the alumni community.
Recruit (interview, select and integrate) the students to be enrolled into the program
Organize new students’ arrival and present rules of Training Centre
Build and maintain close relationships with potential students’ employers (Garage owners, …)
Plan, organize, supervise, control and report on Students Internships

an experienced pedagogical leader with 2 years’ experience in education or social work
computer literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint…

willing to learn, dynamic, reliable and capable to adapt and react quickly
