Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
Main purpose of job:
The Political Team of the British Embassy in Hanoi is responsible for political reporting, analysis and advocacy on a wide range of domestic and foreign policy issues. This includes economics, security and defense, good governance, human rights, ASEAN and multilateral issues. We also have a number of projects aimed at sharing expertise between the UK and Vietnam. In 2023, we will mark the 50th anniversary of UK-Vietnam diplomatic relations. This will involve a programme of exciting activities and events in Vietnam. The Political Intern will work across the team to help deliver this.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
- Organize events and activities related to the 50th anniversary of UK-Vietnam diplomatic relations
- Prepare briefing, presentations and other materials for external events
- Plan and deliver communications campaigns and social media content
- Support the team’s political reporting and research
- Attend meetings and take minutes

- Strong organizational skills, good communication skills
