Background

PATH is a global organization that works to accelerate health equity by bringing together public institutions, businesses, social enterprises, and investors to solve the world’s most pressing health challenges. With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions—including vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide. Working in Vietnam since the early 1980s, PATH established a permanent office in Hanoi in 1997, and an office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2014.

Description of the project the Intern will complete:

The Wellness4All Project aims to assist 3 Amazon suppliers in Viet Nam in enhancing and sustaining comprehensive physical and mental healthcare for workers, improving compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and regulations via supporting health services provision, technical assistance and learning, capacity building activities. The duration of the project is 18 months, with key activities implemented from early 2024 and cover a wide range of target groups and beneficiaries (workers, managers, and health staff).
The Community Sport and Health Cooperation Initiative, a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, PATH, and the World Health Organization, operates in five countries, with Vietnam being one of them. This initiative aims to improve access, enhance knowledge, and strengthen policy and investment in community sport to promote healthy lives and well-being. It seeks to bolster collaboration between the sport and health sectors, implement co-created sport-based community programs jointly delivered by health and sport stakeholders, and increase participation in organized community sport to enhance health and well-being. The project's duration in Vietnam is 22 months, starting from January 2024. It covers a wide range of target groups and beneficiaries, including students, teachers, young people, communities, managers, and others.
PATH is currently seeking a qualified Program Associate Intern for these projects. The Program Associate Intern will report to the senior program coordinator and work closely with PATH Vietnam program team.

Brief description of required skills/experience the intern should possess:

  • Vietnamese national
  • Recently graduated from a university or senior students. Students with majors on statistics, demographics, public policy, public health, or any related fields is preferred.
  • Have good analytical skills
  • Keen interest in data management and project coordination.
  • Keen interest in contributing to sustainable development goals
  • Strong verbal and written English
  • Able to pay close attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:

  • Presentation, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Project implementation and management
  • Team working skills
  • Other related skills of logistics arrangement, financial process, event organization and administration

Proposed activities:

  • Support to maintain the website wellness4all.net including uploading new posts, updating news and documents, data management and other admin related tasks.
  • Assist in management of tele-healthcare services including supporting set up process, monitoring and evaluation of activity progress, quality assurance.
  • Support the sport and health activities conducted in schools and communities, including guideline development.
  • Assist in the project M&E related works, including data collection, tracking, updating and analysis and preparation tools and forms for the endline assessment.
  • Support preparation materials and logistics support for meetings, workshops, and coordination with stake holders.
  • Provide written translation of documents if might be required.
  • As requested, actively contribute to the team’s day-to-day activities and other tasks as required by the supervisor.
Candidates must currently have legal authorization to work in Vietnam.
