Summary of Duties:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) manages Canada’s migration program. IRCC has three main areas of focus: business and risk intelligence; program delivery and stewardship; and global engagement. IRCC Ho Chi Minh, located within the Consulate General of Canada in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, administers an active migration programme for residents of Vietnam who wish to go to Canada on either a temporary or a permanent basis.

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will, under general supervision, be tasked with a variety of duties:

• Assess applications in accordance with legislation, regulations, and departmental instructions.
• Analyze applications with supporting documentation to identify anomalous, inconsistent or questionable information, and determine the need for additional documentation and applicant interviews.
• Prepare recommendations or other reports as required for the responsible officer.
• Conduct research, including fact-finding interviews, to obtain and verify information related to case processing, quality assurance, and program integrity. May counsel clients on processes and procedures.
• Use electronic systems to verify requirements, document information, conduct research, complete verifications as well as communicate with contacts.
• Identify high profile, sensitive or problematic cases and bring these to the attention of the responsible officer or the Migration Program Manager.
• Contribute to reporting and liaison, program integrity, Visa Application Centre (VAC) governance, promotion and recruitment activities.
• Make recommendations for service delivery changes on own initiative or through working groups.
• Translate documents and interview as required.
• Participates in training and development of colleagues.
• May supervise staff.
• Perform other duties as required.
