Programme Assistant (WHO)

Call for Expressions of Interest and Proposal   Job Title: VN001 Programme Assistant to support Department of Public Heath, NIHE to well deploy Vaccine Effectiveness study activities
  1. Background:
The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 resulted in a global pandemic with over 611,421,786 cases and 6,512,438 deaths confirmed by the World Health Organization as of 24 September 2022. In Viet Nam, the Ministry of Health officially reported 11.470,164 cumulative cases and 43.146 cumulative deaths as of 24 September 2022. Viet Nam began the COVID-19 vaccination rollout among population older than 18 years in March 2021. By 30 June 2022, coverage of the primary series reached nearly 100% for the population over 18 years of age and 93.8% for those 12-17 years of age, while the coverage of the booster dose reached about 63% and 12% for the 18-year-old and 12-17-year-old population, respectively. Vaccine effectiveness studies allow researchers to assess how well vaccines protect people from illness in “real-world” conditions, outside of a clinical trial, to examine waning of vaccine-induced immunity, effectiveness against emerging variants as well as effectiveness in various settings/populations.
