CNV is currently looking for a financial assistant based in Hanoi to facilitate the implementation of the projects in Vietnam.

Main responsibilities the project assistant

Financial management:
  • Assessing and supporting financial management of partners to guarantee that they have capacity to manage our grants in compliance with CNV Internationaal’s policies and standards; this could include providing and supporting financial trainings for partners and staff and developing and upgrading financial tools;
  • Preparing budget estimation for activities including annual budgets in coordination with the Country Representative and Programme Manager Vietnam;
  • Checking invoices and vouchers and taking care of proper financial administration;
  • Monitoring partners’ spending and overall spending of the different projects;
  • Drafting financial reports (e.g., quarterly, annual) for the projects; ensuring that timelines are met for submission of financial reports;
  • Making payments including salary for staff, consultancy fee, compulsory social insurance, personal income tax, and other operational expenses; issuing certificates of PIT withholding upon requests following local laws;
  • Coordinating annual interim and final audit;
  • Coordination with and provide advice to Country Representative and CNV Internationaal in the Netherlands with regard to financial matters.
Administrative support:
  • Maintaining and updating filing system, making hotel reservation and air-ticket bookings, purchasing of office stationeries and equipment, etc.;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Country Representative;
Skills & requirements The candidate should be based in Vietnam and possess the following skills:
  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Team worker;
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in economics or relevant educational background;
  • At least 6 years of experience in non-profit financial management and projects, preferably in non-profit international entities (NGOs, donors, UN Agencies);
  • Have experience with coaching partner organizations on financial issues;
  • Very good accounting knowledge and skills in working with financial systems and Excel; attention to details;
  • Highly motivated to work for the organization;
