SERVICE CONTRACT: Project Associate (DFAT-funded project)
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Viet Nam is looking for highly qualified and experienced national candidates for the above position.

Key functions:
- Administrative and financial support for the management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Support resource mobilization.
- Apply established systems and procedures and assist in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing, and analyzing information, specifically relevant to violence against women and girls.
- Assist the Project Officer in guiding routine project implementation in close collaboration with national counterparts and project personnel, and in coordinating the timely delivery of project results and reporting deadlines;
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Project Officer in the conduct of project meetings, workshops and events, and other project activities implemented by UNFPA;
- Support the monitoring of project performance via providing necessary information and analysis, including implementation rate against indicators/results; detect potential implementation problems and propose remedial action.
- Maintain an effective financial recording and reporting system and a mechanism for monitoring project budgets; regularly provide accurate, up-to-date financial information for management purposes.
- Conduct field visits, participate in review meetings and evaluation missions and prepare regular inputs to status and progress reports; carry out a regular follow-up on the implementation of spot checks and audit findings.
- Support advocacy and resource mobilization efforts of the CO by establishing and maintaining donor and public information contacts. Assist with organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events, including preparing relevant background material for these events.
- Assist in implementing the Country Office’s knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices related to the project; share them with management for future initiatives.
- Work with the Gender Team on moving upstream policy advice.
- Demonstrate and promote gender-sensitive behavior and gender equality within UNFPA and with partners.
- Implement any other activities requested by the Supervisor and the Country Office’s Senior Management.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Education: Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Finance, or similar discipline desirable.
2. Knowledge and Experience:
- 6 years of relevant experience in programme/project management in the public or private sector.
- Knowledge in the area of Gender will be an asset.
- Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.
3. Languages: Fluency in oral and written English and Vietnamese
