Duties: Under the direction of the Laboratory Systems Team Lead, incumbent of this position will provide technical assistance and logistical support for on-going laboratory activities in support of CDC- funded cooperative agreement projects in Vietnam. S/he will assist in the implementation and monitoring of laboratory aspects of CDC Vietnam programs, including conducting site visits to monitor the quality of TB testing, procurement of equipment, reagents and supplies; identifying training needs; organizing training courses and assuring timely submission of required reports; developing reports and technical presentations; and translating reports as needed. The incumbent will work closely with the CDC chief of TB/HIV program.Qualifications and Evaluations
Education: A master’s degree in Life Science/Microbiology, laboratory fields or Medical Doctor with laboratory experience is required.Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years’ experience in clinical microbiology laboratory science is required. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have/be:-
- In depth knowledge of the principles of clinical microbiology, techniques involved in diagnosis of TB, HIV, and microbiological monitoring treatment of HIV-infected TB patients.
- Familiar with the Vietnam health care system and the MOH, its structure, organization, and policies
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This will be tested.) Level 4 (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Vietnamese is required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have:-
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with international, national, provincial, and local partners.
- Ability to perform logistical arrangements, including meeting and training coordination.
- Ability to compile routine and technical reports.
