The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the–Quality Framework Content Writer at any existing Save the Children office location.
Role Purpose:
A key mandate of the International Programme Operations Continuous Improvement team is to identify, design, and embed operational improvement initiatives that support Country Offices (COs) to deliver high quality programmes for children. This includes responsibility to oversee Save the Children International’s Quality Framework: the Quality Framework includes SCI Policies & Procedures, CO Standards, Mandatory Tools and Supporting Documents, which enable staff to do their jobs compliantly and with quality to deliver programs for children.
The Quality Framework Content writer is responsible for ensuring that our policies and procedure documents across various teams are well-written and provide the right level of information for staff, so that they understand how best to carry out their work in the simplest and most helpful way.
The primary focus of the role is to work with Function/ Department owners to develop accessible policies and procedures that are fit for purpose for Country Offices. The Content Writer will also work to ensure that cross-cutting issues such as safeguarding are embedded and there is alignment across functional areas.
To enable the Content Writer to continuously improve these core document, the role holder will need to regularly communicate with and seek feedback from Centre, CO and RO staff. This includes field staff who provide customer feedback on core documents, as well as working with and presenting to senior management stakeholders.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Strong Content Writing and editing skills
- Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures for a global organisation
- Project Management experience, including experience of leading cross-functional project teams to collectively deliver project outcomes
- Strong organisation and time management skills. Ability to plan ahead and prioritise competing tasks.
- Strong communication skills, ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including Country Office and Centre senior leadership
- Experience managing stakeholders with varying priorities to achieve a common goal, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem solving skills; Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving, working with and coordinating input from multiple departments.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to listen well; fluent in English. Ability to communicate complicated messaging simply and gain buy in from key stakeholders through compelling communications.
- A flexible and collaborative approach; ability to liaise with, and gain credibility, across a broad range of people at all levels, across different cultures and to act with credibility, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Save the Children.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree level education preferable / equivalent work experience.
We can offer circa £ 41,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in any existing Save the Children office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
