Resource Development Officer


Background The Resource Development Officer is responsible for supporting fundraising efforts across multiple channels at International Medical Corps, with a focus on foundation, corporate and organizational giving. Main Responsibilities: The Resource Development Officer will collaborate with the Senior Manager and other members of the Resource Development and Communications team to cultivate and steward major donor, corporate and foundation donors and prospects by developing high quality proposals, reports and other communication and outreach materials as needed. The tasks listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. Proposal Development and Report Writing
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and colleagues to write high quality proposals, updates and reports for donors and prospects that contribute to excellent donor stewardship and cultivation.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Manager, collaborate with cross-departmental teams to coordinate programmatic and financial inputs and support the review of proposals and reports.
  • Represent the donor intent among cross-departmental colleagues and ensure that work product both meets the donor needs and accurately supports International Medical Corps programmatic goals.
  • Critically but positively review inputs for proposals and reports, including budgets, timelines and activities for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure final products comply with donor requirements and are completed on deadline.
Donor Stewardship and Cultivation
  • Support the Senior Manager and colleagues in donor stewardship by coordinating, writing, editing programmatic updates as needed by collecting and critically reviewing thorough, accurate and timely information on programmatic progress or needs
  • Administration
  • Responsible for maintaining the administrative and support functions related to proposal development and reporting across IA, under the leadership of the Senior Manager.
  • Maintain the Resource Development donor dashboard to ensure timely and accurate reporting, donor compliance and excellent donor stewardship.
  • Coordinate proposal and report submissions processes, including tracking and maintaining accounts; identifying and circulating up-to-date proposal and report templates; reviewing, communicating and ensuring compliance with submission requirements; maintaining internal proposal and reporting files; maintaining CRM information; and more.
  • Coordinate grant agreement review and ensure timely review and submission of grant agreements.
  • Schedule meetings; take, maintain; and circulate minute notes.
  • Provide other administrative support as required.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to support the continued diversification and growth of revenue opportunities.

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful grant-writing and/or fundraising experience required, including in the development and/or review of proposal budgets
  • Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt subject matter to a variety of audiences persuasively in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate within a team
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to critically analyze information and situations, and to develop solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
